“I see your light as Spirit. And oh, by the way, where’s the honey?”
Got Any Honey?
Geckos in general are pretty curious creatures. Thus, when I go out to my lanai to sit in Meditation in the mornings, with a tea tray in hand, it’s not a big surprise to see them trailing about the railings in search of food and defending their territory. Settling into my usual morning mediation, I sit and then I have tea. Sometimes, when I’m feeling the need for something sweet, I put a bit of honey in it. I keep a small bowl with a teaspoon of honey nearby, so I don’t have to leave my spot to get it.
This particular morning I sat as usual, calming my mind and bringing in the light to my valley, honoring the animal, plant kingdoms, thanking God, the ascended masters, my guidance team, the spirits of Hawaii, the devas, fairies and elves for taking such good care of the environment and all of it’s inhabitants.
Imagine my surprise and delight upon opening my eyes to see one of the beautifully green, lanai dwelling geckos, about 3 inches long from head to tail, strolling across the teak coffee table, hop up onto my tea tray and start investigating its contents. Not more than arms length away, he seemed so very relaxed as he walked about with his suction cup feet and nice long tail trailing behind; it could very well have been a she, I’m not up on the gender identification of geckos. Continuing to investigate the tea tray, he discovered the honey dish, hopped in unabashedly and began a tasting; apparently geckos have a sweet tooth too. Sensing that it was a safe place to be and enjoying himself, he decided to settle in. At the rate he was going the small dollop would be half gone in no time. I’m pretty sure raw honey is not on a geckos diet list.
Now, normally geckos are a bit skittish, any sudden movement and they are out-of-there in a hurry. Not this one. I would shoo, he would scurry to the edge of, and then down the side of the coffee table. Then peep just his head up sideways, with one eye peering for the all clear, then start back up and over to the tea tray. He never took the same route twice. It was rather amusing and quite funny to see a gecko acting like any domestic animal, who when shooed away from a food source, would keep checking to be sure if you really meant ‘no’. After about four times of this ‘shooing’ and ‘peering’ up over the edge of the table, he finally decided to move on.
Every morning thereafter, for about 3 days, during my meditations, he came back to check to see if there was any tasty honey out on my tea tray. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to tell the little guy that I had switched to stevia drops instead, figuring it was probably better for both our blood sugar levels. My inner smile was still with me though and I wondered if he would again come to visit.
Well, yesterday, after a particularly heavy retrograde, much higher than usual tides, stronger than normal winds, and currents, along with a whole host of other energetic challenges over the last 2 weeks, my gecko friend, to my surprise, came to visit.
In fact, I was in session, learning, moving and rearranging the energetic responses to some old patterns around me, half in the present consciousness, and half into my higher self. As a semiconscious channel and an empath, I live in the spaces-in-between so that I may translate what’s being passed down. Apparently, my gecko friend was quite at ease with this situation. I was seated in my usual spot with my black tourmaline, manifest light crystal, my pendulum, along with paper and pencil in hand; I like to write down messages I receive so as to process them and possibly share them with you, and others later on. And there he was, not more than arms length away, investigating my cup of tea and strolling along the end of the table on his way over to the edge closest to me. He paused, now merely 10 to 12 inches away, and stayed there for quite sometime, not moving, just seemingly staring or gazing, I couldn’t really tell.
At one point, the stance he took looked like he was going to leap– they are amazing leapers–right on to my lap. I just sat still, gazing back. It was as if he was saying to me,
“Look, don’t worry, God provides. You’re okay, and I wouldn’t be this close if I did not feel safe around you. I see your light as Spirit. And oh, by the way, where’s the honey?”
He then strolled over to my tea cup crawled up the side walked around sideways a la Fred Astaire. And then sauntered off to wherever was next on his route. This whole scene had me laughing out loud.
I’m sure I will see this friend again, and even if I don’t. I can still look back and see him gazing at me, with is triangle shaped head and large eyes facing me. That thought just brings a laugh of joy. Nature really can be quite fun and supportive in it’s own way, when we pay attention.
P.S. I waited to take this photo and was so engrossed in writing this article I was disappointed that I had just looked up long enough to catch a glimpse of him walking away. So I asked if he would come back for the photo, then I waited. He came back. It was a courageous mission for him to come back just so I could snap this photo on my phone. Don’t you just love communicating with such magnificent beings?
Many Blessings,
Melinda
